When will Modules 3 and 4 be released?
Module 3, Equity & Belonging, will be released in the spring of 2022. Module 4, Resilience & Efficacy, will be released in the summer of 2022.
The titles of Modules 3 and 4 have changed from Advancing Equity to Equity & Belonging and from Developing Efficacy to Efficacy & Resilience. Has anything about the focus changed?
Title changes do not reflect changes in module objectives.
In Module 3, we focus on belonging as a path to equity. Educators will explore aspects of their own identity and the role of social identity in influencing not only their own sense of belonging but also that of their colleagues and students. They will examine how mitigating unconscious biases can increase belonging, and they will learn individual and collective practices that create an inclusive and safe environment for everyone, advancing equity in their schools.
Module 4 is still under development. This is where we bring the foundational pillars of social-emotional learning together. With the increasingly stressful demands of the last year and a half, we started taking a closer look at the connection between efficacy and resilience. What we found is that our levels of self- and collective efficacy can predict how we navigate life’s stressful events and how efficacy protects (or buffers) against the negative effects of stressful situations. So, in this module, we come full circle with the connection between efficacy and resilience and the role efficacy plays in bolstering educator, community, and student resilience.
Is Module 4 the same as the Resilience Module?
The Resilience module that was field tested from August through December of 2021 is not the same as Module 4. The field test was available for a window of time, and elements of that module have been incorporated into our Managing Stress module.
Because of high interest and demand from educators and leaders, and because of the natural connection between efficacy and resilience, we examine this relationship and explore new aspects of resilience in Module 4.
