When are you adjusting pricing for the Second Step® programs?
The new pricing is effective from October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025. We work to remain transparent with our clients and share these pricing updates with as much notice as possible to ensure clients can plan and budget for renewal and purchases. Please know that the new pricing can be found in the Second Step store or the Second Step Programs Price List and Order Form after October 1. See below for more information on how to take advantage of current pricing before the change goes into effect on October 1, 2024. If you would like to learn more about these price adjustments, please contact us.
Why did you adjust prices?
We are committed to grounding Second Step programs in research and evidence. Our products are developed and updated on the foundation of current research findings and best practices in the fields of social-emotional learning (SEL), education, and psychology. This means that we are always investing to innovate our digital programs based on customer feedback and the latest research.
We are also committed to robust and ongoing support across our family of programs. This implementation support is included with program adoption at no additional cost.
Are there any opportunities for additional savings?
Purchasing physical kits and accessories or renewing your digital license before October 1, 2024, allows you to lock in our existing pricing. Renewing your digital subscription early ensures a seamless transition, as your license will automatically extend from the expiration date of your current license.
Additionally, consider our multi-year digital licenses. Purchasing before October 1 not only locks in current pricing but also offers significant savings: 15% off for a 3-year license and 25% off for a 5-year license. Securing a multi-year license protects you from future price increases, budget shortfalls, or changes in funding.
If you’re not ready to purchase by October 1, reach out to us for a quote before that date to lock in existing pricing for an extra 30 days.
How do your prices compare to other social-emotional learning providers?
As a nonprofit organization, we are dedicated to keeping our prices affordable to ensure our programming remains accessible for all school and district partners. We reinvest our earnings back into our products and services, allowing us to offer robust resources, comprehensive support, and regular program updates that far exceed what other SEL providers offer. Many SEL providers also charge separate fees for implementation resources and support. We are committed to offering research-based implementation resources and robust support included with the purchase of Second Step programs. Even with this access to comprehensive support, continued improvement, and exceptional product quality, our pricing is generally more affordable compared to other providers. We are committed to maintaining program accessibility in pursuit of our mission of all children thriving in a just and peaceful world.
How has the Second Step® Elementary and Second Step® Middle School digital programs license improved?
Our pricing reflects the continuous improvements we make to our programs. These improvements are based on current research findings, customer feedback, and best practices in social-emotional learning, education, and psychology. Here are some examples of the improvements that you now experience in the program that weren’t originally included:
- An all-new Second Step Middle School unit on developing a positive sense of self: The addition of this unit results in an increase in content of 18 lessons over 3 grades. The existing Recognizing Bullying & Harassment unit is now a supplemental unit, allowing additional flexibility so districts can customize their approach to teaching SEL and anti-bullying to middle school students.
- New videos and songs to enhance student engagement
- Additional extension activities: The Second Step Elementary digital program now includes more than 100 supplemental resources, and Second Step Middle School contains more than 200 advisory activities.
- More authentic, age-appropriate content that students find relevant and relatable
- All lesson materials for all grades now available in both English and Spanish
- All family communications—including Family Letters, Home Links, and weekly family communications—now available in English, Spanish, and 11 additional languages
- Reports available in a comprehensive Leader Dashboard or excel file, ensuring school and district leaders are fully empowered with data, including:
- A program adoption snapshot that illustrates staff progress toward implementation
- School-level reporting that provides a detailed breakdown of lesson completion progress by grade and classroom, at a single school or across multiple schools
- A detailed lesson completion export for ad hoc analyses
- Enhanced implementation tools and resources that help leaders take key actions to support successful implementation
- Further reduced preparation time for teachers, allowing them to focus more on students and teaching
May I purchase a program for 10 months, as I don’t need it for the full year?
CFC’s competitive subscription pricing model is structured annually, not monthly. As such, we have already built a discount into the price to reflect our understanding that schools won’t necessarily use it for 12 consecutive months. However, we want to offer you the flexibility and choice to utilize your licenses in a way that best meets your needs within a 12-month subscription. Servicing all districts in an equitable manner is very important to us, and we look forward to working with you to ensure your teachers and students have access to the highest quality SEL program.
Where can I find my current license expiration date?
As a program administrator, you can find your license information, including the expiration date, by logging into the Leader Dashboard in your Second Step account and then clicking on License Management. Here you can view all licenses on your account and their renewal date. If you have questions, please contact us at support@secondstep.org or call 800-634-4449, ext. 1.
Will my current quote be honored?
Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued. Contact us for a quote or schedule a consultation to lock in existing pricing for your purchase or renewal before October 1, 2024.
