What happens when reporting is reset on June 28, 2024?
- All 2023–2024 class data for the Second Step® Elementary and Second Step® Middle School digital programs will be archived. Classes created after the reset will be reflected in Lesson Progress Reporting for 2024–2025.
- Training progress for the Second Step® Bullying Prevention Unit, Second Step® Child Protection Unit, and Second Step Elementary classroom kits will also be cleared and reset.
- If you are using Second Step® SEL for Adults, your microlearning progress will remain intact.
Why are classes, training, and reporting reset?
We reset all class and training data at the end of each school year so teachers and administrators have a refreshed dashboard and program reporting for the new academic year.
How does this affect me?
Elementary and Middle School Digital Programs
- Teaching elementary and/or middle school digital programs? Prior year’s classes are cleared. Create new classes after the reset date.
- Monitoring lesson progress reports in the elementary and/or middle school digital programs? The Leader Dashboard’s Lesson Completion Snapshot for all sites and their exportable detailed lesson progress report show class activity for the current year. The current year resets to the next school year after the reset date. Past reports for each site are available via the dropdown menu on the Lesson Completion Report page. We would recommend downloading your Lesson Completion Report prior to the reset if you need access to more granular data for deeper analysis.
Early Learning and Elementary Classroom Kits, Bullying Prevention Unit, and Child Protection Unit
- Past training progress and certificates are not available after the reset date, so be sure to download them before the reset, if needed.
We are using the elementary and/or middle school digital program in summer school. What should we do?
- For those teaching lessons: If you created a class for summer school before the class reset, you will need to create a new class after the reset. If you were in the middle of teaching a unit at the time of the reset, the new lesson material may not go along with the previous lessons. Content across all grades and units in both the elementary and middle school digital programs have been updated along with the class reset. Changes can be found here: Second Step® Elementary and Second Step® Middle School Digital Program Updates for the 2024–2025 School Year.
- For those monitoring progress: Download the Lesson Completion Report prior to the reset and again at the end of summer school to see overall progress. Contact Client Support if you need assistance.
As an administrator for Second Step license(s), do I have to add all users back to their site’s programs?
No. All existing users will continue to have access to their program or training. However, do remember to update your users by adding incoming staff and removing departing staff.
